Seanet , Gal Z Fold 3 Flip 3 waterproof test
Jeon Seo-jin washing the bloody Galaxy Z Flip 3 with water and operating it.
Jung Seo - jin, the main character of the drama "Penthouse 3 ", rushes to wash her smartphone with water when blood is spilled on it. Viewers who saw this scene were surprised and interested in the waterproof function of the smartphone.
This product, also known as 'Cheonseo Jinphone', is 'Galaxy Z Flip 3' released by Samsung on the 27th of last month. It is the first foldable phone with a waterproof function and can support the IPX8 rating. IPX is an international protection grade for waterproofing, ranging from 0 to 8, and the higher the number, the higher the degree of protection.
According to Samsung Electronics, the Galaxy Z Flip 3's IPX8 rating is enough to protect it safely even if the user accidentally spills water on the product. It can withstand up to 30 minutes in clear water at a depth of 1.5 meters. But what about the reality? IT media 'Seanet' recently conducted a waterproof function test of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which was released together with the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
◆ Water depth 1.5m submersion test

First, Seanet submerged both products in 1.5 meters of clean water for 30 minutes. The water depth of 1.5 meters is the water depth limit officially explained by Samsung.
As a result of the test, both products were bright without any traces of water penetration, and the touch of the camera and the internal screen responded normally. Seanet explained that the fingerprint scanner and mic worked fine and charged well, but there was a little water left in the speaker, and when the music was played at high volume, it dripped.
Seanet said, ``After the test, 48 hours after the device was dry, all the tests were performed again, and all functions worked normally.''
◆Submersion test in a 3m deep pool
Samsung clarifies that the water resistance of both products it claims applies only to “fresh water.” But what about chlorinated pools?
Seanet dropped the device into the water of a 3 meter deep pool and took it out after 15 minutes. As a result, the camera, internal and external displays, and charging worked normally.
However, in the case of fingerprint recognition, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 was normal, but the Galaxy Z Fold 3 did not work. Also, I couldn't hear the speakers very well. After 24 hours, I tested the product again and the maximum speaker volume was back to normal for both.

But with the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the speaker volume wasn't as crisp as it used to be, and the fingerprint scanner didn't work either.
Seanet said, "This test is not a scientific test, and not everyone can get the same results." evaluated.
You can turn the washing machine and pour cola and freeze it for 16 hours.
Among Korean YouTubers, bold experiments on waterproofing occurred one after another. 520,000 YouTuber 'Mr. M.R.' unfolded the Galaxy Z Fold 3, placed it in a container, filled it with carbonated beverages, froze it for 16 hours, and then melted it and activated it. All functions such as display, camera, speaker, recording worked fine.
Then I put the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in my pants pocket and put it in the washing machine. Everything worked fine, even with detergent and softener. However, the exterior was damaged, and when opening and closing, there was a fine sound at the hinge.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, which were officially released on the 27th of last month, have sold over 1 million units.
Samsung Electronics plans to sell 6-7 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 this year. Compared to the Galaxy Note, which usually sold about 10 million units a year, the sales volume is lower, but the price is higher, and in terms of profitability, it is not an irreplaceable level. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are priced at KRW 1,998,700 and KRW 1,254,000, respectively.
